Prepress Production

Prepress is the term used in the printing and publishing industries for the processes and procedures that occur between the creation of a print layout and the final printing. One of the most important functions in the process is pre-press production. This stage ensures that all files are correctly processed in preparation for printing. This includes confirming the proper CMYK color model, finalizing the files, and creating plates for each color of the job to be run on the press. We take the extra step to assure the best outcome of each project.

In today’s prepress shop, the form of delivery from the customer is usually electronic, either a PDF or application files created from programs such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress. All files are then produced Computer to Plate (CTP) or file to digital.
